![]() ![]() ![]() Also 'Salem's lot apparently introduces characters that will be involved too.Īre there any others along the same vein as this? i.e. For the same reason I'm considering reading Insomnia, as it apparently introduces a character who'll be introduced later. I read the Stand as my first SK novel, and would say that it does give you a way better understanding of who Flagg is as a character I'd consider that to be important enough to warrant reading. I'm in no real rush to make a B-Line (bee line?) for the end of the series, and would like to make my journey a more full one, so is there any sort of real consensus on which books actually add to the experience and which are just connected through minor name drops? Take Eyes of the Dragon for example, it's a great book and I don't regret reading it, but for all the Dark Tower extended reading lists that suggested to read this - because it's important to better understand the Dark Tower, apparently - it only really amounts to being a name drop in book 2. ![]() About to move onto book 3 of DT, just finished Eyes of the Dragon, and have already read The Stand (and the Gunslinger of course). ![]()
